My 1972 Porsche 914 has been in the family for all but six months in its 49-year history. Affectionately referred to as ‘little orange car’, I decided to help save it from a near death experience after being stored in my family’s Puyallup barn for 11 years. In 2019, I had it flatbed delivered to Bob’s Benz and Brits based on a word-of-mouth reference stating he is the best in the business. This has been the wisest car decision of my entire life! In addition to delivering mechanical perfection, Bob has been a mentor to someone like me who is brand new to classic car ownership. He has provided me with recommendations to other goods and services that ended up saving me money while simultaneously providing me with a level of quality I would not have found on my own. He wisely advises me on what will be worthy for the car now, as compared to what I may want to keep as a goal in the future. The real test throughout this restoration process has been witnessing my family’s absolute delight in getting this 914 back to its original condition. Bob continues to service ‘little orange car’ to this day and is helping me carefully break down its restoration into smaller projects so I can enjoy it in the summer and build on its success during the winter. Also, if you are a true ‘car enthusiast’, visiting his garage is always a thrill! When you stop in, you will have the opportunity to see all kinds of ‘car history’ being restored at Bob’s amazing garage
